Living FOR ME

Hello fervent followers.

I have reached the end of the road.  I am no longer living in Thailand, and have made the decision to come back to the states for good.  There are several reasons for my leaving, however I will not discuss them here.  Personal and private as they may be, if I see you, I will definitely give you some insight on my decision.

With that being said, I am currently in Macon.  My employment situation is handled, and law school applications are being topped off and sent.  Needless to say, LIFE IS GOOD.

Regret has evaded my vocabulary and said feelings have not entered my mind.  My decision was real, it was instant, and it was exactly what was best for me.

Now, if you realistically want to enter into the Service First program, this should not be a deterrent.  I have a very different personality when it comes to dealing with certain issues that may not be in your best interest.  I actually recommend working with Dr. Walker and taking a job teaching overseas.  The 3.5 months I spent abroad definitely gave me the push and experience I needed to live on my own and know that my dreams were real, concrete, and MUST be accomplished.  I hope your experiences do the same.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone who helped with preparation for my journey, offered encouragement, understands that this is my decision FOR ME, and who sincerely loves and wants what is best for me.  I hope that the 5 others who are currently there have an amazing experience and see things they never have, because I definitely did.

Love you all & well wishes,

- Cara

ADVENTURE WAS OUT THERE!!!

Kip - Laos currency

Trek through the rice fields

Beautiful sunset from our river-side restaurant

Hello fervent followers!

During my break, I explored the wild countryside of Vang Vieng, Laos!  And lemme tell ya, IT WAS FANTASMIC!!!  I definitely found adventure and used my slogan so many times that my travel buddy, Taylor had to tell me to shut up lol

Anywho, Vang Vieng is a quietly nested backpackers town strewn with guesthouses every 5 feet and monotonous restaurants, bars, travel agencies and pancake stands (weird, I know).  Every single restaurant has the exact same sign and menu - felt like I was in the twilight zone 0__0  However, it was still awesome!  Taylor and I went on a trek through the rice fields and visited 2 caves, one of which was only accessible via tube and flashlight helmet, and kayaked the Nam Song - major river running through Laos.  ADVENTURE WAS OUT THERE!!

On the second day, we rented motorbikes for like $5 and rode all around the countryside, through the mountains and numerous small villages.  The natives were so nice; each of them smiled and waved as we zoomed past :)

Watering hole next to cave
Overall, the trip was peaceful and exhilarating!  I had a wonderful time and have even started planning a backpacking trip through SE Asia with the boo!

Well, until next time folks ;)

Gimme a break..giiiimme a break...

Fervent followers!

The time has come for a break! yes yes, I am traveling to Laos this weekend and am darn excited about it!  I was supposed to visiting the states but did not receive my reimbursement for my ticket here, so I cannot afford it at the moment.  However, I am going to try and visit as soon as I can.

-- Soooo back to Laos!  Laos is the country sharing a border with Thailand to the Northeast.  Its known for its jungles and rivers, making many a rock climber and adventurous soul happy.  I am trying to release/discover my adventurer's soul, so I have decided to go tubing down the river and explore some caves and natural trails.  Bug spray and malaria pills in hand, I will trek through the thickets and find my way to an adventure.  Ok, ya got me. Who am I kidding?  I'm afraid of roaches hahaha  Let's hope I survive the 4 days in the jungle :-/

On the other hand, I got another job at a school that I actually enjoy going to!  The people are very helpful and I can make up my own lesson plans - which I am super duper happy about!  Hopefully, this school will give me a reason to stay.

Welp, in the famous words of Ellie from Up: "ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!!"  and well, I'm gonna try to find it.  Let's hope my bug repellent doesn't wear off.

I am going to kill someone!!!!!!!!!!

Followers,

I even needed a new font for this horrendous day.  Ok so first of all, I went to training today and the instructor kept skipping over me like I had NO EXPERIENCE in the classroom.  He was asking everyone else for the input and acted like I wasn't even there!!!!  And then I get home to find out that my bank account has been overdrafted because my Thai gym, who I already paid IN CASH for the month of September, has charged my account twice!  I am soooo pissed!!!!!!!!  I am pissed because I am being made to feel that I am incapable of teaching a freakin kindergartener and I am being taken advantage of!!! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

when it rains, it pours.  My umbrella doesn't seem to be strong enough...

Little froggies in a row...

Hello fervent followers!

Immmmmmmmm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

My life went from this

To this in 2 days

I am sooooo happy that things are back to normal!  I feel like I finally and sit back and relax for awhile.  I got paid yesterday (half of which I plan to save) and I am starting my workout routine again.  I am hoping to stick to everything I have planned and to also stick to God's plan.  Because His plan overpowers mine any day :)

On the other side of the coin, I miss my friends dearly!  I am missing Claudine's wedding shower, which I am soo sad about.  I missed Jaymi's birthday and Im missing Marci's birthday.  I missed my little sis's Sweet 16.  I missed my babies' probate.  I feel like I am missing so much!

Well, let's hope my visit brings many smiles :)

Taking a small hiatus

Hello guys.

Ummm I'm going through a lot emotionally and spiritually right now, and I have decided to take a hiatus from blogging for the moment.  I don't know how long this hiatus will last, but I know it will be a small one.  I just need to get a few things going on in my life in order before I can share anything with you guys.  Its nothing personal against you.  I just need some breathing room.

I will return soon enough with exciting stories to tell :]

In the meantime, peace&love.

Life is too short & God is too good.

It has definitely crept up on me...

Hi fervent followers!

Welp. Its about that time of the year again for birthdays...and mine is about 4 days away. wow. another year. another dolla.  I am officially almost at 25 and that means I'm really REALLY grown now.  No more family cell phone plan.  No more "lemme get $50, Daddy."  Its gonna be ALL me from now on, and I think I have officially come to terms with this.  Since being in Bangkok, I have learned how to make a dolla outta $0.15 - literally.  And I have also gained my own relationship with God - which is essential for forging ahead on this journey we live.  I have lived & learned many lessons in my relationship, friendships, family, and professional life.  Now its time to apply the concepts I have learned and LIVE.  easy enough right?  we shall see...

stay tuned for the next page of my life because it will be very interesting!
